Terrorist attack in New Zealand

On Friday, an attacker opened fire at the Countdown supermarket in Auckland in New Zealand, injuring six people. The police killed the attacker on the spot. New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern called the incident a terrorist attack in the town of New Lin. He said the attacker was inspired by the terrorist organization ISIS. Earlier, police officials had called it a random attack. He had refused to accept it as a terrorist incident. PM Ardern said that what happened today is full of hatred. It shouldn't have happened. Describing the attacker as a Sri Lankan national, he said that he had come to New Zealand in 2011. He said that the incident took place at 2:40 pm. The officers killed the attacker within a minute.
