Artist and entrepreneur Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, dropped by Adidas over antisemitic remarks
Published at : November 02, 2022
Artist and entrepreneur Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has lost his status as a billionaire after Adidas announced that it will terminate its partnership with the rapper over his recent slew of antisemitic statements.
Forbes has estimated that his net worth is now around $400 million, after it deduced the Adidas business deal which it valued at $1.5 billion.
Foot Locker and Gap also said they will remove the artist’s Yeezy products from their stores.
West’s antisemitic outbursts followed a controversy where he showed off shirts carrying the “White Lives Matter” slogan. The shirts drew condemnation from fellow artist Diddy who West claimed was being pressured by Jewish businessmen to voice his criticism, alluding to an antisemitic conspiracy theory that Jewish people control the media, resulting in him being blocked on Instagram and Twitter.
After being blocked on social media the rapper was interviewed by various people on different platforms about the incident, where he would often double down on the antisemitic remarks.
