Plea against Assam Repealing Act in SC: Will respond appropriately if notice issued, says Assam CM

Referring to the plea filed in the Supreme Court challenging the verdict of Gauhati High Court which upholded the Assam Repealing Act, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sharma on May 31 said that the government will respond appropriately if the Apex court issues notice to them. Speaking about the issue, Sharma said “Gauhati High Court has given a very reasonable verdict in our favour that government should not run any religious institute. However, it is a right of the aggrieved party to go to the SC. If SC issues notice to us, we'll respond appropriately.”
