Any restrictions which affect industries 'need to be followed by stimulus'

Restaurant and Catering Australia’s CEO Wes Lambert says any restrictions which affect industries such as the hospitality sector need to be followed by stimulus.
It comes as the New South Wales government has reintroduced restrictions to slow the spread of the Omicron COVID variant.
Singing and dancing are banned in hospitality venues from today until January 27.
“It’s the health advice that the Premier has been given, and the health authorities have given to the Health Minister, so ultimately we will encourage businesses to follow those and follow the rules and the laws that are in place,” Mr Lambert told Sky News Australia.
“However, they need to be followed on with government support.
“We are in the present, and there are nearly 100,000 cases of COVID in Australia today, and this has certainly affected consumer confidence, which is affecting the hospitality industry, which must have some stimulus.”
