Right Wing Mom's Group Offers Bounties To Turn In Teachers Teaching Critical Race Theory
Published at : November 25, 2021
The Republican-controlled legislature in New Hampshire recently banned the teaching of certain aspects of racism and related issues, and they even set up a website for residents to report teachers who violate the law. Not content with that, the right wing group Moms For Liberty decided to offer a $500 bounty for the first person who is able to turn in a teacher for violating the new law. This is archaic and dangerous, and we are quickly entering a new era of fascism in America. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

The Republican controlled legislature in the state of New Hampshire recently passed a bill that expressly prohibits specific kinds of teaching about race, racism and gender. And they've even set up for your convenience, a new website where you, the parent, can report any teacher who violates this law by teaching specific things about race, racism and gender. Well, that's not enough for one right-wing group called Moms For Liberty. And after the state of New Hampshire announced that they had set up this website, Moms For Liberty retweeted it and said, they've got a wonderful $500 prize for the first person who turns in a teacher for breaking this law. Okay. See, this is fascism. This is fascism, folks. Welcome, it's here. We let it happen and it happened without people even realizing it. Every two years or so, I reread 1984, not just because I like to throw out 1984 references, but it's a good book. It's a fun book. It's a depressing book. But hello, so is life, right? And I reread it and as I'm reading this story, what comes to mind are the children, the children in 1984. They get rewarded for turning in people that they hear say negative things about big brother.
And of course Winston's neighbor who was a big brother lover, mumbled something in his sleep about it and his kids turned him in and that's what we're saying here. And the moms are in on it. They're trying to give people $500 if you can turn in one of these bad apple teachers trying to teach your kids history. That's what we've come to here the United States. This is the point we are at. We're not on the verge of fascism. Fascism is already here and it's gaining popularity. We have Republicans who recently within the last two weeks suggested burning books that they don't like and those books, by the way, dealt with LGBTQ issues. But hey, we called them pornographic. So burn the things. This country is quickly becoming unrecognizable and it is happening at the state level and it is spreading from New Hampshire to Virginia, to North Carolina, to Florida, Texas, Ohio. It is spreading. The attacks on books, the banning of books, the banning of teaching certain things to children, folks. If this doesn't alarm you, then I don't know what will, because I'm terrified. I'm terrified for the future of this country and I'm at the point where I don't know that there is a future and that's the scariest part.
