CAP to govt: Ensure high rise building balconies safe for children
Published at : November 16, 2021
The Consumers' Association of Penang (CAP) has urged the Housing and Local Government Ministry to investigate a viral video of a girl, who appears to be seven to eight years old climbing over the balcony railing onto the ledge of a high-rise building (presumably a flat)
She is then seen walking back and forth on the ledge.
According to CAP president, Mohideen Abdul Kader, the ministry must probe the matter immediately and implement effective safety measures to protect children living in high rise buildings.
A video footage, showing the girl climbing over the balcony railing onto the ledge of a high-rise building (believed to be a flat) and proceeding to walk back and forth on the ledge, has been making its rounds in social media since last week.
