Revival is to bring back to life
To reignite
To restore
To reactivate
To renew strength
To do more exploits, signs and wonders
To increase or take your spiritual life to another level
Revival is receiving fresh fire

In this week we shall be looking at revival in the church, in the homes, in the lives of our children, in our land and lastly personal revival. Today we shall be looking at the present day church and revival.
The question to answer in this teaching is why the need for revival? To answer this question, I will like to draw our attention to what happened at pentecost in Acts 2:1-4,16-19 KJV ..............

Revival is needed when there is
- Urge for new things
- Need for testimonies
- Need for fresh fire
- Need to overcome besetting sins
- Need to break loose from captivity
- Need to confront the kingdom of darkness
- Need to recover lost and stolen virtues
- Need to reach a new level in life
- Need to silence your adversaries and mockers
- Need to discern mysteries
- Need to receive power from above
- Need to understand and know more applications of the word of God
- Need to see beyond the ordinary
- Need for wisdom knowledge and understanding
- Strong desire to make impact in your generation.

Revival don’t just happen, it has to be ignited, the Apostles noticed that without revival they cannot do exploit as seen in Matthew 17:14-21 KJV
And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, [15] Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. [16] And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. [17] Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. [18] And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. [19] Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? [20] And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. [21] Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

That was why they prayed for the fulfilment of what was spoken by prophet Joel which is what we are going to do for the present day church, we need to shout and cry loud for God to bring revival into the church….

Since revival is receiving fresh fire, therefore the principal enemy of revival is ashes, for revival to take place and maintained we must constantly be removing the ashes ( sin:- pride, anger etc) from our altar of revival ….pray like this :- wild wind from God blow ashes away from my altar of revival in the name of Jesus

We also need: the word of God, love, holiness and prayer to ignite the fire for revival. Pray like this O lord my father send your revival fire upon my soul in the name of Jesus

Prayer
1. O lord my father send your fire for apostolic revival into your church in the name of Jesus
2. O God my father revival prayers and bible study in your church in the name of Jesus
3. Power of God to do great and mighty exploit come upon your church and your ministers in the name of Jesus
4. Let your church die to flesh in the name of Jesus
5. O lord God send your tongue of fire upon your church in the name of Jesus
