Leaving the Order ~ The Ananda Way of Life #54
Published at : September 04, 2021
Why would one leave the Sevaka order, or any monastic order for that matter? Some reasons may be: If the initial inspiration that brought you into the order dries up, or if you are holding on to wrong attitudes or not following helpful guidance. Not many people have “complete life” spiritual karma, and community must have a realistic expectation of how to deal with this. For this reason, Swami Kriyananda arranged that the community helps find the exiting member a new life in the world. Our service to our fellow man includes being able to discern, which is essential in deciding those who may enter the order or how to handle leaving—it is a balance between acting appropriately, yet with greatest compassion.
