CA EDD Unemployment News Release: More Than 2,000,000 Californians Lose Benefits When PUA & PEUC End

Today’s California EDD unemployment news release says over 2,000,000 people in California will lose all of their unemployment benefits when the PUA unemployment program and the PEUC extension end this Saturday September 4th. PUA is listed as Disaster Assistance or DUA on your CA EDD program type and the PEUC extension is listed as PEUC, extension tier 2 and extension tier 2 augmentation. In total, 2,200,000 Californians will lose all of their unemployment benefits when the Federal unemployment benefits end this Saturday September 4th and an additional 500,000 people will see a reduced income even when they collect State unemployment benefits (claim type UI) and FED ED because they will only be collecting their weekly benefit amount which will not include the extra $300 weekly boost. There is still no mention of an unemployment extension.

* I think everyone should be able to get ahold of the CA EDD for free, I still advocate calling (833) 978-2511 the best days to call the EDD are Tuesday through Saturday, the best times to call the EDD are right when they open at 8:00 to 8:15 or later in the afternoon around 2:30 - 4:00 then after the long intro message quickly hit 1,3,4.
