Sin Conscious & Christ Conscious
Published at : August 31, 2021
I have truly felt that the church today has put so much focus on sin that it has completely shifted our focus off of Christ. Please hear me out, I am totally against sin. As christians, the Bible is really clear that we are no longer under the dominion of sin. We must also remind ourselves that our walk with Christ will not be perfect in this life. At times, we will choose to sin BUT we must remember that we are no longer slaves to it. Also, we no longer find enjoyment in it like we used to. Why? Because we are DEAD TO SIN.
May I remind you all that Christ died for all of our sins (including the whole world) on the cross. Our sins aren't an issue anymore. For unbelievers, It's preaching the gospel to them that needs to be the focus, not pointing out their sins and condemning them to hell. For us as believers, It's keeping our eyes on Christ that needs to be the focus. It's allowing Him to live through us to make an impact in the world.
Brothers and sisters, this is not about us. We must take the focus off of ourselves and put it on Christ and let Him express Himself through us. The devil wants us to be conscious of our sins, mistakes, failures and flaws instead of our righteousness in Christ. If he can take our focus off of Christ, he can make us pay attention to ourselves having us defeated!
Church, as we focus on Christ and who we are in Him, we will experience the abundant life that God wants us to live.
Let us continue to encourage each other in these times instead of bashing one another. Let all that you do be done in love.
God bless.
